The Little Wine Bus Story

The Little Wine bus was created by Tania P. Dougherty, Certified Travel Counselor and Certified Meeting Professional. Tania has over 15 years of experience in the travel industry and a strong background in planning special events, corporate meetings and outings. She has worked for some of New York ’s most influential executives in the travel and finance industries. Tania still works in finance during the day, but has a dedicated full time staff of Hudson Valley family members and travel industry partners to help her manage her business.

Tania grew up in the historic Hudson River Valley in upstate New York , where her family still resides. Over the last 7 years, she has traveled the globe sampling some of the world’s greatest adventure tours and wines in areas such as the south of France, Tuscany, Italy, and most recently, tasting the crisp and sweet wines that grow in the rich lava soils of Mt. Etna, Sicily.

Wanting to share her deep passion for adventure travel, culinary food, and wine tasting, Tania created The Little Wine Bus, New York Countryside Wine Tours to let others experience the charming family-owned vineyards in this picturesque Hudson Valley Region.

Most recently Tania attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, New York where she studied pastry and baking. With this training and knowledge she has created delectable foods made from each of the winery’s homemade wines, distilled fruits, ciders and special liquor blends.  Guests can have a chance to sample her unique culinary creations by going on one of her fun, educational and adventurous wine tours. Tania continues to update her gastronomic skills by taking food and wine courses at The New York Institute of Culinary Education located in New York City.

Tania earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management and Leadership studies from New York University. She graduated from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents where she received her Certified Travel Counselor designation and soon after received her Certified Meeting Professional certification from the Convention Industry Council.

Since starting The Little Wine Bus, Tania has received recognition from multiple institutions.  Due to her success, Tania has been asked to speak at New York University as well St Johns University's school of hospitality.

In 2008, growth of the Little Wine Bus included a business partnership with Expedia.com.  The Little Wine Bus is now one of the most popular tour options within New York City. In 2010, expansion continued with The Little Wine Bus becoming a member of IATAN. (International Airlines Travel Agent Network) which makes this company a fully operational Travel Agency and Tour Operator.
